Last week we talked about the Apple Shaped body.  This week we are introducing the PEAR SHAPE body type 

You Have a Pear Body Shape When:

  • You have curvy hips
  • You have thick thighs
  • You have a small bust
  • You have narrow shoulders

The key to dressing a pear body shape is to enhance and add volume (or the illusion of volume) to your upper body while emphasizing your waist and de-emphasizing your lower body to create a balanced, hourglass appearance.

Your power pieces include:

TOPS

  • Plunging V-necks in any silhouette
  • Bright color and printed tops (helps draw the eye upward)
  • Off the shoulder styles (not baggy)
  • Top which accentuate your waist

 PANTS

  • To slim your hips wear straight leg pants or pants with a flare bottom
  • Bootcut, trouser-cut or flare jeans. A relaxed fit works the best
  • Choose curve-skimming styles in stretch fabrics that won’t suffocate your hips

 DRESSES AND SKIRTS

  • A-line (the skirt part falls away from the hip instead of clinging to it)
  • Wrap style dresses (the built in tie is great for defining the waist)
  • Off the shoulder type dresses
